Gallery:  Steel Horse Sculptures << Return to Gallery Directory

Dwayne's life-sized horse sculptures have been gaining recognition and popularity through out the country. His horses are created from steel, copper, stainless steel and  bronze. The horse below is
Rusty
, made at a 1/8" thickness, each piece is hand cut using a plasma cutter. Then shaped by hammering the cut piece against a steel block or anvil. Similar to the way a blacksmith would shape iron, but this is all done cold, hand forged, fabricated steel. Dwayne does not use any computerize machines to punch out the pieces of steel. This is a very timely process and in a way, a dying form of art.

Cutting pieces of sheet steel.
